Construction of a refugee accommodation in Seeshaupt surprisingly stopped!
Seeshaupt, Deutschland - Munich. Sensation in Seeshaupt! The Bavarian community unexpectedly stopped building a controversial luxury Asylum Home on Lake Starnberg! After a sudden call to District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß (CSU), Mayor Friedrich Egold (CSU) has decided to put the plans on hold for the time being. The construction of accommodation for up to 99 migrants, which was to be equipped with the latest solid wood construction, heat pumps and photovoltaics, was planned. But now everything is quiet!
The property area belongs to the Free State of Bavaria, and the costs for the planned building were estimated by the authorities to an overwhelming level. A big sticking point: the floor is apparently contaminated with pollutants! In order to remove the contaminated sites, costs of around two million euros were estimated. These unexpected loads have forced the municipality to give up the plans and look for new areas for refugee accommodation. A shock for everyone who had hoped for the quick implementation of the accommodation!
political backgrounds and votes
The CSU, which supported the project under Prime Minister Markus Söder, is now under pressure. In the recent state elections in September 2023, people in the Weilheim-Schongau district, which belong to the Seeshaupt, voted for the CSU with a 34 percent, followed by the free voters and the Greens. However, the majority in the Seeshaupter municipal council have been presenting the “party -free citizens of Seeshaupt/Magnetsried” since 2020, who act as a local voter association regardless of the large parties. This political context plays a crucial role in current development and could strongly influence future planning.
