Weiden, Deutschland - pasture. The colorful district of North Upper Palatinate, a vital foundation for sick children, exceeded its donation goals for 2024 with flying colors! In just two years, the organization collected an impressive 48,000 euros to support families in need.

founded five years ago by the generous initiative of a private founder, the Bunte Kreis Nordoberpfalz (BKN) in the years 2023 and 2024 went through a remarkable development. At a recent meeting of the foundation council in the Weiden Clinic, the head Marina Luttels presented the success of the foundation. The BKN currently looks after around 45 sick children and offers their families urgently needed support. However, the lack of pediatricians in the region remains a major problem, which makes it difficult to care for small patients.

donation record: Almost 27,000 euros already in 2024!

In 2023, the foundation was able to spend 21,000 euros in donations, but the year 2024 goes one step further! Almost 27,000 euros have already been received by the end of October. A large part of this sum, around 17,000 euros, was invested in a new company car to support the employees of the BKN more efficiently. The old vehicle was over 14 years old and repeatedly prone to repair.

The board of trustees is obliged to thank the generous donors. In order to further increase visibility and support, the BKN plans to expand its public relations work, in particular through increased activities in social media and the organization of benefit concerts. The colorful district of North Upper Palatinate acts as an important aftercare facility that accompanies families with premature babies, chronic and seriously ill children over a period of up to six months. Since its foundation, the foundation has supported over 600 families after their stay in the clinic and is dependent on donations, since the statutory health insurance companies can often not help sufficiently.
