In Mindelheim, the district office plans an extension to cope with the increasing need for jobs and the growing tasks in the Unterallgäu. The location includes the property of the district office, which is currently occupied by the agricultural office and the former agricultural school. The architecture competition for the extended authorities campus was a central part of this project, and a total of 21 architectural firms submitted their suggestions, such as Merkur reported.

The planned space program should include 192 offices with a total of 320 jobs in three construction phases by 2042.
