Volunteering in Traunstein: Stark and Lex receive district medal!
The Upper Bavarian Seeon recently took place, in which two committed citizens from the Traunstein district, Annemarie Stark and Gustl Lex, were awarded the Upper Bavarian district medal. The district president Thomas Schwarzenberger praised her exemplary volunteering and presented them with certificates and medals together with bouquets of flowers. This award, which has been awarded since 1990, recognizes the extraordinary voluntary commitment in various areas from culture to inclusion.
The medal underlines the importance of volunteering, and Schwarzenberger emphasized: "Voluntary work is a great treasure - you are role models!" In her impressive career, Annemarie Stark shaped the face of charitable work in the region. In 2008 she founded the association "We help e.V.", where she worked as a chair for 15 years. Her commitment led to numerous events that brought in a considerable 215,000 euros for people in need.
Gustl Lex: A true model of the volunteer
Gustl Lex, another regional volunteer talent, lives volunteering in a variety of ways. He has been involved in his free time for decades without any remuneration. As a municipal council and lay judge in the court, he campaigns for the common good and actively contributes to culture by maintaining and promoting many historical aspects of his homeland Grabenstätt as a local home nursing officer. Lex, who was awarded the community's citizens' medal in 2019, has also made a name for himself musicalically by using the Grabenstätt men's choir.
The honor of Stark and Lex was accompanied by important personalities in the region, including Traunstein's mayor Christian Hümmer and district administrator Andreas Danzer. Hümmer expressed his pride in strong, while Danzer Lex described as a "great woman". Lex himself said: "I see the medal as a great honor and appreciation of my many years of work." Mayor Wirnshofer emphasized how important Lex is for the community and expressed his joy about the honor.
The musical framework of the festive event was taken over by a string ensemble of the Munich University of Music. In addition to Stark and Lex, other committed citizens also received the district medal, including personalities from different cities and areas, which underlines diversity and commitment in Upper Bavaria.
These awards are not only a sign of recognition, but also a valuable memory of the services that volunteering in society accomplishes. The district not only honors individuals, but also the countless hours that many people willingly invest for others.
