Hankofen surprised: gain against Würzburger Kickers and Kriwalle!

In the Maierhofer-Bau-Stadion at home, the SpVgg Hankofen showed an impressive performance and surprised the reigning master of the regional league, the Würzburg Kickers, with a 1-1 draw. After a previous win against FC Bayern II (2-0), expectations were high and the game attracted 850 spectators. Right at the beginning of the game, the starting agent Zizou Agrignan cheers when he scored 1-0 in the first minute.

Die Dorfbuam, known for their combative game, remained aggressively even after the early lead. Despite the pressure of the Würzburger, who came up with prominent players such as ex-Dorfbua Elija Härtl and Jonas Wieselsberger in the starting eleven, Hankofen kept control of the game. Christoph Laimer in particular, who had been sitting on the bench, in particular recently, showed an outstanding performance.

The course of the game

The Kickers tried to put pressure on a power play and intensive pressing in the second half, but Hankofen was able to ward off these efforts. After a quarter of the second half of the game, the guests scored 1-1 when Montcheu and Girth completed a successful combination in front of the goal. The game was shaped by many standard situations and small fouls, which inhibited the river of the offensive of both teams.

In the last minutes of the game, Würzburg finally stopped his efforts and the draw was considered fair. Tobians Beck, player coach of the Dorfbuam, was satisfied with the point and praised his team's passionate defense work. At the course of the game, he noticed: "The deep space cost a lot of strength, accordingly the second half was an absolute effort."

However, the mood tipped after the final whistle when the ultras of the kickers rioted in front of the stadium. The police had to intervene and encuse the rioters and escort, which further tightened the already tense climate after a disappointing performance by the fans.

Kickers coach Martin Lanig recognized the difficulties of his team, but made it clear: "We had to swallow the shock at the beginning. We forced the compensation, but of course we are not satisfied." This incident reflects the increasing tensions within the fan scene of the Würzburgers, especially in view of the recent weak results of the team.
