Anniversary country cycle: Starnberg celebrates with record participation!
Three hours, eleven minutes and 52 seconds: The last team at this year's Starnberg district was needed to achieve the destination on the Bundeswehr site in Maising. When the final runner of the "Bunten Haxn", Lena Ottmar, finished, she was rewarded with warm applause for her commitment. Her team, which had become the penultimate, celebrated this place almost like a victory, especially under the leadership of Marathon Senior World Champion Brigitta Biermanski.
This traditional run went into its 40 round on Saturday, and the competition attracted numerous participants as usual. The fastest runners were the men of the LC Buchendorf, who defended their title with a time of 1:33:54 hours and asserted themselves in front of the rivals from TV Planegg-Krailling and LG Würm athletics. It was a brilliant race for LG Würm athletics; They won the women's ranking again.
a wide field of participants and new categories
With a total of 198 participating teams, the event is a real visual object for popular sports. Both the folk festival mood and a serious competitive spirit were noticeable on the event area. Teams from various areas competed against each other: from hobby runners to club teams to company grades. The great interest in the new Bambini category was particularly gratifying, in which children between the ages of three and six ran a 1000-meter route without timekeeping.
Markus Lübbe, the representative of the district office, was enthusiastic about the big influx of children and adolescents who revitalize the event. The introduction of the "Bambinilauf" has proven to be particularly successful because almost 80 children took part and had a lot of fun. At the same time, however, the competition among the older adolescents and children was pronounced-while TV Planegg-Krailling conquered the cup in the youth classification, the FT Starnberg was dominant among children's relay.
Another remarkable aspect of the event was the friendly atmosphere between the participants, in which fun and top sporting performance were equally in the foreground. "It is a nice folk festival," said a participant who has been participating in the run for years. The spirit of the competition combines generations and different performance levels, whereby many participants started with a relaxed smile.
The organization of the event required extensive cooperation between various authorities, municipalities and sports clubs. Supported by the Bundeswehr, which made the site available, and the BRK, which was on site with medical staff, a smooth implementation of the run could be guaranteed. Brigadieral Rainer Simon, who took care of the participants as a host, was estimated for his support and commitment by many, including the children who received medals.
Although the run was somewhat impaired by small logistical problems, how long queues were somewhat impaired in the drinks and food edition, a positive conclusion was drawn overall. "Everything went well," said Lübbe after the event. The date for the next year has already been set for the upcoming run: On October 11, 2024, the 41st district run will take place in Gilching, as well as the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of TSV Gilching-Argelsried, which will host the event.
