Brilliant Christmas: Christmas tree balls for the hospital chapel!
In the festive atmosphere of the Christmas season, the hospital chapel in Schwandorf shines with a very special eye -catcher: a decorated chapel cover that is already decorated with glittering Christmas tree balls. Marco Hirschl, the initiator of this appealing campaign and chairman of the pastoral council, explains that by February 2, the Festival Maria Lichtmess, numerous other balls should be hung up. "We want to bring a little shine into the Christmas season and invite everyone to pause a bit by hanging the balls," said Hirschl. The chapel is accessible during the service times and over the main entrance of the hospital. On December 25, 2024, the Christmas service will take place at 9:30 a.m., further services are planned on December 29 and on January 5 and 12, where the decoration should contribute to the festive mood, such as Bistum- Regensburg.de reported.
A remarkable connection to the health and Christmas message also results from the Christmas address of King Charles III. He chose his speech from a former hospital chapel in London, the Fitzrovia Chapel as a backdrop. This decision has a special connection to the healthcare system, since the chapel used to be part of the Middlesex Hospital, which was closed in the early 2000s. According to reports from the BBC, this choice reflects the importance of communication between different beliefs, which in Charles' speech about peace and acceptance of different backgrounds becomes clear. The speech was already recorded on December 7th and is one of the first to not be kept in a royal estate. In addition, the speech is traditionally broadcast on the first Christmas day, where Charles calls for a harmonious coexistence, as well as peace and environmental protection, such as stern.de reported.
