Schardt in need: traditional children's furniture manufacturer reports bankruptcy!

The siblings Barbara and Philipp Schardrt have tried everything to save their family business in recent years. In the summer, the second location was relocated to Mitwitz to save costs, but the measures were unsuccessful. Now the "Franconian Day" reports that Scharft GmbH & Co. KG had to take the step into bankruptcy. The main reason? A dramatic demand, which was still exacerbated by changing consumption behavior, birth declines and increasing costs. "We had to go this way," admits Barbara Schardt, and the despair is noticeable.

a glimmer of hope by the insolvency administrator

But the fate of the company is not yet sealed! From 1936 to 2022, Scharft GmbH was in family -owned property and was only handed over to an investor last year to create new perspectives. The two siblings that have been running the company for four generations are optimistic because their insolvency administrator Harald Schwarz from Nuremberg left a positive impression during his visit. Nevertheless, he warns of the complicated situation in which the furniture company is located.

urgent need for action until November

The clock ticks! Insolvency administrator Schwarz emphasizes that a lifeline must be found by November. The narrow time frame and the already difficult location of the industry also put the company under pressure. However, there is a ray of hope for the 50 employees: they should receive bankruptcy money from the Federal Employment Agency. The future of Schardt is now hanging on the silk thread, and the next few weeks will be crucial!
