Pierre Kaiser: Bavaria's first leg amazed footballer!
In Middle Franconia, a remarkable step was taken in the world of football: Pierre Kaiser is the first leg -amputated footballer to play in regular play in Bavaria. This extraordinary athlete found his way back to the pitch, after a difficult stroke of fate that changed his world.
2007, after a tragic accident on a train, Pierre Kaiser had to have his right leg amputated. Nevertheless, he could not get himself down. "It was clear to me from the start that I want to enjoy my life to the fullest and not give myself up," said Kaiser. He quickly found ways to deal with his new situation and discovered that he could be active despite the amputation, for example when cycling. These experiences gave him the courage to counter the challenges of life with a positive attitude.
a new way to football
During his rehabilitation, Pierre Kaiser heard of amputation football, a special football format for people with amputations. Although he had never played football before, his interest was awakened. After participating in a course for amputee football, the 35-year-old was immediately enthusiastic. He quickly became part of the “kick-off Hoffenheim” team and even a member of the German national amputation team.An important turn came when Emperor Ralf Stellfeld, the first amputation footballer in Germany, who was approved for regular game operations. This exchange motivated Kaiser to make his own request to the district chairman of the Bavarian Football Association, Uwe Mauckner. "I thought I couldn't get more than a no," said Kaiser. His determination paid off: Mauckner was immediately ready to pave the way for Kaiser in order to take part in regular games.
Mauckner describes Kaiser as a role model: "With his joie de vivre and enthusiasm, Pierre is a real encouragement for people in similar life situations." This illustrates the positive influence that emperor has on his surroundings.
a place in the team
Kaiser has been training at the SG Dormitz Brand reserve since 2022. His neighbor had encouraged him to stop by. "The warm recording of the players immediately convinced me, I just stayed. I never felt like a player with a handicap," he reports. This integration into the team gave him the feeling of belonging and community.
The long wait for his first assignment came to an end last weekend: Kaiser stood at the A-Class game of SG Dormitz Brand II against the reserve of TSV Behringersdorf on the square. Together they celebrated a 2-1 victory, and for Kaiser, a big dream came true with this game, while he is already working on other goals: the German championship with a kick-off Hoffenheim and the establishment of their own amputated football offer in Nuremberg.
Kaiser's remarkable journey shows that the greatest challenges can be overcome with determination and support. Further details on this inspiring story can be found www.nordbayern.de .
