Imagine: The sky is filled with the majestic singing of hundreds of cranes! The Nature Conservation Association LBV in Hilpoltstein reports that there are as many cranes as never before on the way to the south. These impressive creatures cause excitement because they frequented the Bavarian ventilation particularly strongly this year - and that where this bird was considered extinct for a long time!

Bird migration has been increasing over the edge of the alpine edge since 2008. The elegant cranes fly from Hungary to Austria and cross southern Bavaria in a west-southwest direction, always oriented on the large rivers such as Isar and Lech. The exact cause of why this route has established itself is a mystery, since according to experts, many factors could play a role. In the meantime, the birds flock across the Alps until they take a well -deserved break in the south of France.
