Edeka recall: Dangerous herbal salad can contain stec bacteria!

The Gartenfrisch Jung GmbH, manufacturer of the "Edeka Hearts of Herbal Salad Salatmix", has announced that it will initiate a recall campaign for the 200 gram bags. This recall only affects packaging with a consumption date from October 16, 2024, which can be found on the back of the packaging.

In a routine examination, it was found that stec bacteria (Shigatoxin-Fildendende E.Coli) were discovered in the salad mix. This makes a health hazard possible for consumers. These bacteria can cause serious gastrointestinal complaints, including febrile disorders. The warning of consumption of the affected product must therefore be taken very seriously.

recall details and measures

The critical packaging was mainly available in the Edeka and Marktkauf branches in various federal states, including Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Thuringia as well as in neighboring regions of Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia. The affected trading companies have already taken measures and removed the goods from the shelves.

Consumers who bought one of the affected salad bags should not hesitate to return them. It is not necessary to present the receipt to get the purchase price reimbursed. The company recommends returning the product immediately to avoid health risks.

This recall campaign is of the highest priority for those responsible, especially because the health of consumers is at stake.
