Cycle path between Mitter roofing and Weyarn is finally paved!

For cyclists in the Weyarn region, there is good news: From Monday, October 7th, the expansion of the bike path between Mitterdaching and Weyarn will start. The existing gravel road, which runs along the A 8 motorway, is converted into a asphalted bike path over a length of about 650 meters. The entire construction work is expected to be completed by Friday, October 18, as the State Building Office Rosenheim announced.

This modernization of the bike path brings several advantages. By introducing continuous marginal markers, visibility for cyclists is improved, especially in the dark. In addition, the middle marking in the area of the motorway bridge increases safety in the traffic traffic, so that all road users can benefit evenly on the new path.

detour and improvements during construction work

The cycle path is completely blocked during the construction period, but cyclists are redirected. The alternative route leads along state road 2073 and is characterized by appropriate signage. The state building authority notes that there can be disabilities during this time and asks cyclists for their understanding.

One of the most important improvements through the paved path is the relief for winter service. After the renovation, it will be much easier to remove snow and ice, which is of great importance for all -year use. The total costs for this renovation amount to around 115,000 euros, which are invested in the local bicycle traffic infrastructure by the Free State of Bavaria.

This initiative is part of a larger strategy to promote environmentally friendly transport and to improve cycle paths in the region. The new safer and more comfortable conditions should help to ensure that more people use the bicycle as an alternative transportation option in their everyday life.
