Bruckmühler Tafel remains closed: Help for the needy in danger!
Bruckmühl, Deutschland - The Bruckmühler Tafel remains in the crisis! Despite the enormous rush to the needy who has been going on since August, the admission stop for new customers remains. Tafel boss Claudia Vill confirms that the situation is unchanged and the team from 50 volunteers does 270 people with food every week. However, demand increases while the board receives less and less support from supermarkets. "We had to act and stop an admission stop," explains Vill. The emergency is alarming!
false myths and scarce resources
The board not only sees itself confronted with an increase in help those seeking help, but also with stubborn rumors. Vill clears up with the myths that many who come to the table are not really in need. "Everyone who is accepted with us has to demonstrate their need," she emphasizes. Control is strict and documents such as housing benefit notices must be presented. In addition, there are fewer and fewer food donations, which also tightens the location.
Another misunderstanding that Vill clarifies: "Citizens can donate durable food at any time." But expired products often end up in the donations. "Of course that doesn't help us," she says. The board does not buy food so as not to further relieve government support. Vill advises those in need of help to contact the social welfare office again or contact other social associations in order to receive support. In emergencies, as with single mothers, it is also helped without evidence. The situation remains critical and requires urgent solutions!
