Tölzer Löwen conquer fourth place with 6: 3 against Passau!
The Tölzer Löwen won an exciting game against the Passau Black Hawks 6: 3 on Sunday and thus secured their promotion in the table to fourth place. However, the game started bumpy for the lions, who leaned against Höchstadt after a significant derby victory on Friday. Coach Axel Kammerer noticed that his team was not quite at the beginning of the game: "Was a difficult start for us, but we found a way to win."
In the first third, the lions were initially inattentive. No wonder that Passau Andrew Schembri landed a direct goal in majority and scored the first goal. However, Tölz did not stay behind for long. Dominik Daxlberger converted a precise pass and achieved the equalization. Even if the initial phase was characterized by inaccuracies, the lions increased in the course of the game.
exciting turning points in the game
In the second third, there was a clear turn. Topi Piipponen scored the 2-1 with an artistic return shot and brought the lions into the lead for the first time. Not long after this goal, Max Spöttel made the next highlight when he scored the slatted cross in the outnumber and the gate was extremely close. Coach Kammerer knew that such double strokes would significantly influence the game for his team.
The last third started with further opportunities for both sides. Florian Krumpe tried out his luck with a shot from the blue line that Jack Olmstead drove into the goal and only shortly afterwards Tölz increased to 4: 2. A quick margin of Schüpping made it even more difficult for Passau than he dusted a long shot. In this phase, the Tölzer Löwen were particularly effective: "The double strokes pulled the game on our side," summarized Kammerer.
Although Passau scored a goal in the final phase, the lions were able to control their game and finally managed their lead. Another PowerPlay goal from Klement Pretnar made the final score of 6: 3. But Kammerer was not entirely satisfied: "Wasn't that liquid today. We had less clear actions."
With this victory, the Tölzer Löwen strengthened their confidence and are optimistic about the upcoming games. You will compete again next Friday and have to defend your fourth place. The team seems on the right track, but it remains to be seen whether they can master future challenges with just as much energy and skill.
