Warning strikes at Bavarian regibeahn: Agree before Christmas!
Weilheim-Schongau, Deutschland - rail commuters in the Oberland can take a deep breath. The planned warning strikes on the Bavarian Regiobahn (BRB) before the holidays have been averted. According to a message from the EVG railway union, there was a breakthrough in the collective bargaining with the employers who submitted an improved offer. The new conditions include a wage increase of 4 percent in two steps and additional remuneration for particularly stressed employees. Originally, the BRB did not want to implement the salary adjustments until November 2025, but after intensive negotiations, a compromise was achieved: the increase is now effective in August, which prevented the upcoming work of work, such as Radio Oberland reported.
tariff conflict averted
The planned warning strikes were intended to respond to the inadequate proposals of the BRB and their parent company Transdev. The EVG criticized the fact that Transdev questioned the time for the wage increase and wanted to postpone the salary increases to November 2025, while the union called for implementation from July. With the agreement that has now been made, the EVG initially dispenses with the threatened strikes, as well as Br.de reported.
The BRB, which employs around 850 employees and is active in the Ammersee-Altmühltal region and between Ostallgäu and Lechfeld, can continue to maintain their operation without commuters and travelers suffering from the consequences of work. This agreement is not only important for the employees, but also makes it easier to worry from travelers before the upcoming holidays.
