Heavy traffic controls: Many truck drivers ignore regulations!

For heavy traffic controls on the B12 in the Ostallgäu, considerable violations of the steering and rest periods were found. The controls carried out by officers from the Buchloe police inspection led to several identified offenses.

A 24-year-old Dutch tractor drove two trucks despite overtaking ban and crossed the speed of 90 km/h (60 km/h). Furthermore, the driver did not stop his 45-minute steering break after 4.5 hours of driving and exceeded his weekly steering time by almost 10 hours. Both the driver and the transported company had to pay a security deposit in the low four -digit range.

other violations determined

A 48-year-old Slovenian tractor driver was also involved in the controls. During his journey, he transported 18 tons of foil roles, the load of which was insufficiently secured. He used damaged clamping belts and also committed violations of the steering and rest periods.

In addition, a Greek driver of a German tractor -trailer was checked. This had violated the steering times several times. After reaching the maximum livelier, he removed his driver card from the control device to continue without a card. As a result of this offense, the driver was sometimes up to 26 hours without a break. He also found numerous violations of the rest periods, which led to a high security deposit. A fine procedure was initiated against the transport company of the Greek driver.

Compliance with the regulations for steering and rest periods has been regulated by various regulations such as the Regulation (EG) No. 561/2006 . Among other things, this regulation determines that the daily steering time may be a maximum of 9 hours and weekly rest periods of at least 45 hours must be observed.
