Great fire in Eisenberg: Fire brigade saves animals - residential building in danger!

In the small municipality of Eisenberg in Ostallgäu there was a devastating fire on a farm on Saturday evening. The dense clouds of smoke were already visible from afar when the alarm of the fire brigade was urgently needed. Local residents reported that a boy looked out the window and suddenly called that the barn was burning. Immersalists immediately informed the fire brigade and the owners of the property, which led to rapid mobilization.

The fire brigade faced the challenge of protecting the attacked house while the barns went up in flames. It was a joint campaign: farmers and helpers managed to save almost 100 pieces of cattle from the burning barn. Finally, an injured calf was even saved, as resident Ms. Schmidt confirmed. Fortunately, according to initial information, there was no injuries among people.

The extinguishing work and their challenges

Combating the major fire was increasingly difficult. Firefighters from all over the area were mobilized and built long hose lines to pump water to the fire location. The nearby railway line between Füssen and Marktoberdorf had to be blocked so that the fire brigade could lead its hoses over the tracks without having to create danger for the passengers.

The fire had spread rapidly in the afternoon, especially because of the large amount of hay that was in the barn. Local residents reported several tons of hay that were stored in the barn, which caused an increase in flames. Volunteers and helpers stayed awake until the night and took care of the evacuated animals.

The situation became particularly critical when the flames threatened to overlap on the roof of the house. The fire brigade used additional hoses to fight the fire and save the building. Residents feared that the house may have to be demolished due to the water damage. "Everything is wet, but the house is still standing," said a neighbor.

uncertain future for the animals

Another worrying aspect was the supply of the saved animals. There are around 60 dairy cattle and young cattle in the yard, and the neighbors ensured that the animals were also looked after at night. "The animals have to be milked," remarked a neighbor, while watching the animals that stood in the surrounding fields.

At the moment, the causes of the fire are still completely unclear. The fire brigade and the investigators will have to deal with the incident in detail in the coming days. Of course, the population is informed about all progress and results of the investigations, while the fire brigade is busy extinguishing work until night.
