Cologne sharks celebrate impressive home win against Augsburg!
On Sunday evening, the second Advent, the Cologne Haie triumphed 3-1 in the Lanxess-Arena over the Augsburg Panther and thus celebrated their sixth home win in the current DEL season. Before 16,819 enthusiastic spectators, it was in particular Goalie Mirko Pantkowski, who, with his outstanding performance, caused a safe feeling behind the Cologne defensive. Pantkowski, who represented the injured Julius Hudacek, showed a catch rate of 94.44 percent and was able to look forward to numerous shoulder tapsters of his teammates. The KEC turned out to be stable and offensive, a clear sign of its will to success, as KEC coach Kari confirmed Jalons, who spoke of this home game as one of the best of the season.
a game with light and shadow for Augsburg
The Augsburg Panther, who already fought with a series of seven away defeats, were only able to score a goal in the last third by Mark Zengerle. Despite a strong start and some opportunities, among other things through the dangerous Cody Kunyk, the return to the road was left out. The Panther lost the duel with Cologne, where they received an early goal through Josh Currie in the sixth minute. This set the tone for the game. Shortly afterwards, the sharks were able to expand the lead through two more goals from Currie and Justin Schütz. Augsburg's coach, Larry Mitchell, is therefore standing after four games in the gang with a record of only two wins and two defeats. The difficulties in the overpainting game remain a challenge for the Panther that could not be overcome this time.
This game was also characterized by a personal setback for Augsburg Chris Collins, who was assigned a game lock due to a stick in the last match against Nuremberg. However, the AEV had to report Riley Damiani's comeback, which was supposed to bring a breath of fresh air to the team in the last third. However, the Panther could not put pressure on the Cologne neme with Damiani on board, which sealed the 3: 1 defeat. With their disciplined game and their effectiveness in front of the goal, the sharks deservedly deserved the three points, while the Augsburgers continue to struggle with their foreign misery.
