NOFI run in Neustadt: Donated 25,000 euros for charitable projects!
In May of this year, the city of Neustadt/WN experienced an exciting moment when about 5000 runners competed for the NOFI run on the town square. But after this sporting event, the focus was now on a completely different gathering of the organizers - the handover of a generous donation that the participants had collected.
On Friday afternoon, the representatives of ten charitable organizations met in the town hall of Neustadt/WN to receive a total of 25,000 euros. "This is the most important moment in relation to the NOFI run," emphasized Michael Reinl, a member of the organization team. Each of the invited organizations received 2,500 euros, which illustrates the importance of the NOFI run beyond the sporting performance. The favored institutions include the bright spots, thorn rose, the Maltese youth group, the network inclusion and the women's shelter graze.
Review of the run
At the donation handover, Mayor Sebastian Giering remembered his participation on May 8, when he crossed the finish line without oxygen tent. In doing so, he praised the organization of the run and the support of various helpers, including the police, fire brigade and local sponsors, who have contributed significantly to the success of the event.
Michael Reinl thanked everyone involved and underlined the importance of community work in order to be able to carry out such events. The NOFI run, which has been a fixture in the region for years, will take a break in the future before planning its next issue on May 14, 2026. The exact location for the next run has not yet been determined, but Weiden is expected to be the venue again.
This donation is not only a financial contribution, but also a symbol of the solidarity of the community. The participants of the NOFI run have made a valuable contribution through their sporting performance and their drive, which goes far beyond the event itself. The beneficiaries can use the funds to continue their important projects and help other people in need.
