Village competition in Bad Neualbenreuth: Gold for the best communities!

An exciting evening in the Tillen Hall of Bad Neualbenreuth! On Saturday, the guests flocked to the closing ceremony of the 28th district competition "Our village has a future". Mayor Klaus Meyer welcomed those present who had previously entered an exciting village tour. The children's choir in Bad Neualbenreuth opened the celebration with two rousing songs that celebrated the advantages of their village opposite the city.

The voltage rose when the documents, plaques and checks were presented! President Walter Jonas, district president Franz Löffler and Josef Hofbauer, the chairman of the district assessment commission, handed over the coveted prizes. Bad Neualbenreuth and Waldkirchen (Neumarkt district) were able to look forward to the gold medal! Silver went to Albersrieth, Schirmitz, Hiltenbach, Walderbach and Neukirchen-Balbini, while Weihermühle, Forchheim and Guteneck received bronze. A special prize for "excellent green design" went to Hiltenbach, presented by Konrad Weinzierl, the deputy chairman of the district association Gartenbau and Landespflege Oberpfalz.

The award was based on various criteria, including development concepts, social activities and the design of the village in the landscape. Josef Hofbauer praised the communities for their efforts to increase the quality of life in their villages. Mayor Klaus Meyer emphasized the honor of being hosting of the celebrations and emphasized that the citizens actively shape the future of their villages. District Administrator Roland Grillmeier and district president Franz Löffler underlined the importance of cohesion in the villages and the advantages of structural changes for small business owners and freelancers.

The event was accompanied musically by the Bad Neualbenreuther "Fraisch Boum" and the "Neualbenreuther Zwio". Waldkirchen's mayor Andras Steiner was excited about the upcoming challenges, since Bad Neualbenreuth and Waldkirchen will now compete at the state level!
