Lebenshilfe Bayern Mitte: New concept and end of the favorite café

Konradviertel, Ingolstadt, Deutschland - The "Lebenshilfe for Disabled in the Region 10 e.V." has reorganized: In a general meeting it was decided to change the club name. In the future, the association will be "Lebenshilfe Bayern Mitte e.V." appear. This is intended to illustrate the regional anchoring in the middle of Bavaria, which chairman Wendelin Göbel considers particularly suitable. The new name goes hand in hand with the planned change in the Lebenshilfe Werkstätten 10 GmbH, which will also bear the name "Lebenshilfe Bayern Mitte GmbH" from January 2025.

The long -time chairman Gerhard Preisler handed over the management to Göbel at the meeting on October 17, 2024. Prizeler, who had been on the board since 1999, was able to increase the club's growth to around 470 during his tenure. Initiatives such as the financial subsidies for vacation trips for people with disabilities are particularly positive, which opens up a valuable horizon of experience.

New board and positive balance

In addition to Göbel, Andrea Peyerl and Roland Gieß were elected as deputy chair. The financial health of the association is evident in the annual profit of around 35,000 euros, which grew the assets to around 996,000 euros. "We are well prepared for the future," sums up Göbel.

The association is the sole partner of Lebenshilfe GmbH, which enables both organizations close cooperation. In this context, the closure of the "favorite café" in the Konradviertel was announced until the end of 2024. Managing Director Andreas Jehn explained that the café, which has been established since 2011, was no longer economically portable due to the changed terms and conditions. If the times change, you often have to rethink old habits.

The closure is intended as a long -term decision that does not result from a short -term crisis. The quality of the kitchen and the inclusive team were valued, but in particular due to the move of large offices from the area, the midday demand suffered greatly. "We look at all options carefully and have found that a reorientation is necessary," said Jehn, who emphasizes that jobs for the café employees can be secured within Lebenshilfe.

The café remains open to the guests by the end of the year, vouchers can continue to be redeemed there. After closing, the vouchers can be used at all other life aid sales outlets. Jehn sees the closure as an opportunity to develop a future -oriented gastronomic concept that takes into account the needs of people with disabilities.

"We want to continue to offer job opportunities in the gastronomic area. The new premises must be barrier -free and designed in such a way that people with restrictions can actively participate," Jehn concluded his information. Lebenshilfe thus strives to create a reliable environment for people with disabilities in which they can stay part of the community.
