Böller shooters greet the new year with a loud salute and tradition
On January 9, 2025 at 11 a.m., numerous citizens gathered in Sonneberg to experience the New Year's greeting of the Böllerschützen of PSG 1851 e.V. This tradition has been cultivated for over 30 years and aims to welcome the new year. The target group includes the population of Sonneberg, the district of Sonneberg as well as Franconian and Thuringian neighboring circles, friends of shooting clubs and their families.
During the event, wishes for health, happiness, cheerfulness and personal well -being were given. In addition, a representative of the firecrackers gave a speech in which a review of 2024 was given. A minute's silence took place in memory of deceased members of the association. The ceremony began with a slow row of shots, followed by a faster row in which each shooter fired a salva. In the course of the event, shooting master Wolfgang Amesdörfer gave command for seven shooting combinations. The “Liesl” cannon of the Feuerschützengesellschaft ensured particularly loud volleys. The musical accompaniment took over the Neuburg city chapel under the direction of Alexander Haninger. In Burgheim the shooting was carried out in several districts and in the core community, with shooting master Thomas Bauch commanded the last volleys.
In addition, 19 protectors were active in Schainbach, Schöneberg and Rohrenfels under the supervision of shooting master Martin Huber. After dark, impressive muzzle fire ensured a festive atmosphere, which was opened and ended with a common salute. The brass band Rohrenfels framed the event musically.
The shooting club Bavaria Weichering also invited to New Year's shooting. At this event there were stations in Lichtenau, Osterfeld, Muna and at Kapellenplatz. Mayor Thomas Mack and master of shooting Stefan Gamisch welcomed the guests. Mulled wine, punch and gingerbread were provided for those present. The end was a snack and drinks for the musicians, firecrackers and helpers in the music home.
