VfB Stuttgart: Who will be Nübel's successor in the goal? The focus!

VfB Stuttgart has positioned ambitious plans for the future of its goalkeepers. Alexander Nübel, the 28-year-old tram goalkeeper, remains a fixture in the gate of the club and will continue to be regarded as the undisputed number one. CEO Alexander Wehrle confirmed that Dennis Seimen, the 19-year-old plant of VfB, was built up as the future stem keeper. Seimen is considered a great talent and hope for the further development of the club.

Coach Sebastian Hoeneß also emphasized that Seimen will only be the third choice in the goal, behind Nübel and Fabian Bredlow, who was already used in four games this season when Nübel was injured. After a difficult season in 2023, in which Seimen went through a stalling development due to back problems, he is now fit again and regularly plays for the second team in the Southwest Regionalliga. A loan to a second or third division team is considered as an option to give it the opportunity to collect more game practice and further promote development.
