Neo -Nazis use protest against asylum accommodation for their propaganda

In the small Bavarian village of Bairawies, part of Dietramszell, it is bubbling: the citizens are violating the planned accommodation of over 130 refugees. A few days ago, around 170 people, led by Wolfgang Köster, the chairman of the Greens local association Dietramszell-Egling demonstrated. He founded the "Bairawies active!" Association to fight the asylum accommodation. "We want to help the refugees, but it is impossible here," said Köster about the unfavorable situation in the village, which has no social institutions or supermarkets. He compared the situation with a hypothetical influx of 750,000 new residents to Munich and emphasized: "The relationship is simply not correct", like Welt.de reported.

The protests also attracted the attention of the right -wing extremist small party "The Third Way", which distributed leaflets with xenophobic slogans in Bairawies during the night. These actions, which were classified as punitive, described a picture shaped by fears and demanded that the “invaders” prevent them from entering the country. The head of the police state security, Steffen Frühauf, described the spread of the propaganda -like notes as "clearly a crime", as merkur.de

This development leads to a tense climate in the 280-inhabitant village. Although Köster assures that the vast majority of residents reject the right -wing extremist influence, the uncertainty remains. Mayor Josef Hauser has announced that the district office agree to the building application despite the resistance of the municipality. The local situation remains tense, while the residents of Bairawies decide against the asylum accommodation and the associated challenges.
