Drama on Marienplatz: child slips into the track, mother falls with children!
On January 4, 2025, there was an incident at the S-Bahn stop in Munich, in which a four-year-old boy from Germering slipped into the track. The boy was together with his 71-year-old grandfather and his siblings on the platform when he slipped into the S-Bahn (S8 towards Herrsching) when he got into the S-Bahn. An unknown man operated the emergency brake of the S-Bahn, which probably prevented worse. The grandfather was finally able to pull the boy back onto the platform.
The bystanders immediately alerted the police and the emergency services. During the investigation, the emergency services found that the boy had only suffered a slight shock and did not provide any further injuries. It was not necessary to take the hospital, which is why the grandfather and the grandchildren could continue their journey home to Germering. Video recordings excluded an external fault by third parties. The S-Bahn driver did not notice the incident, but was later able to continue. There were only minor delays in the operating process of the S-Bahn. The federal police, the Land police, the professional fire brigade and the emergency services were on site, such as reported.
