Wind wheels for Mönchberg: Do citizens benefit from the future of energy?

Wind wheels for Mönchberg: Do citizens benefit from the future of energy?

Wind power in focus: Mayor Bernd Wetzel from Mönchberg has given clear answers to the new wind power priority areas! In the idyllic community, a big turn could soon be imminent, since two partial areas were defined for wind turbines in the middle of the forest. This area, near Breunesberg, extends over impressive 168 hectares and offers optimal conditions: a Windthlope between 6.3 to 7.5 meters per second at 160 meters high and an excellent connection to the electricity transmission network only two kilometers away. This makes the Region a hotspot for renewable energies!

The details are explosive!

The government of Lower Franconia reports that the areas are well suited despite its proximity to the Mil 2 district road. A technical preload by a radio system is also given, which favors the feasibility of the projects. Wetzel emphasizes that the location does not dominate the landscape and is far enough from residential development. "I think a lot of this area," he says with conviction.

But what advantages does the community hope? Wetzel reveals: "I am open to everything!" Mönchberg could not only enable self -sufficiency with more favorable electricity, but also offer additional income from area lease even. Nevertheless, there are concerns that the planned areas could partly lie in drinking water protection areas. Wetzel takes the sharpness of the topic and explains that no conflicts with drinking water protection should result from surface laying.

The local council will soon find out more: In November there will be a comprehensive information round. However, the government assures that the construction of wind turbines in the region will not have any negative environmental impact. Mönchberg could thus become a pioneer in the use of renewable energies - a step into a green future!
