The fire brigade's evening of honor: heroes of the Miltenberg district honored!

At the fire department's fire department of the Miltenberg district, numerous firefighters were awarded on Friday, October 11th in the Frankenhalle in Erlenbach. The event honored members for their long-term service of 25, 40 and 50 years and presented flood helpers medals to emergency services who worked in July 2021 during the flood disaster in Rhineland-Palatinate.

District fire councilor Martin Spilger opened the celebration after a musical appearance of the local flower and welcomed numerous guests of honor from the state parliament, district council and municipalities. The thanks of the district fire council went particularly to the Erlenbach fire brigade, which, despite the upcoming "blue light party", organized the event the following day.

District Administrator Jens Marco Scherf praised the firefighters for their tireless efforts all year round, both for the protection of life and for property. "Your commitment deserves our greatest recognition," said Scherf and emphasized the importance of the volunteer in the fire brigade, which promotes values such as solidarity and team spirit.

The fire brigade Erlenbach, which not only operates a first location for a so-called first responder in the district, but also provides essential help in training. "The youth work is very priority," continued Scherf. Despite financial bottlenecks, the active support of the fire brigade is not neglected, as Erlenbach's mayor Christoph Becker assured.

The award was hosted by long -standing members by the district fire inspectors Hauke Muders and Albert Klug. During the ceremony, the active firefighters received certificates and needles for their services. The flood helper medal was presented to fire brigade members who had helped in Rhineland-Palatinate last year. The district administrator handed over the medals together with the district fire council and the district fire inspector.

Another highlight of the evening was the thanks to the musicians of the local flower and the guest musicians, who provided the musical framework of the event. The applause of those present showed the appreciation for the performance.
