Bathroom house club in Wolfratshausen receives 25,000 euros in a citizen price!
In Wolfratshausen, a significant voluntary commitment is awarded. The “Citizens for the Waldram-Föhrenwald Badhaus” club receives the Citizens' Prize of the Bavarian State Parliament, which is endowed with 25,000 euros. This price was advertised under the motto "Never again is now! Volunteering for diversity, cohesion and democracy". The award will take place next Thursday in the Senate Hall of the Maximilianeum by the Landtag President Ilse Aigner.
The bathing house project is recognized by the state parliament for its outstanding initiative, which is devoted to the culture of memory. In addition to the main prize, two more projects are honored: an inclusion project by Lebenshilfe in the Miltenberg district, which is awarded 15,000 euros, as well as "Alef-Bet-the Alphabet of Memory Culture" from Strullendorf, which receives 10,000 euros. These initiatives make an important contribution to combat anti -Semitism, racism and extremist views.
aigner shows recognition
The President visited the bathhouse in June and was during her tour with the club chairman Dr. Sybille Kraft and Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner visibly impressed. Aigner praised the "incredible commitment", which was put into the souvenir, and emphasized the importance of dealing with stories from the past.
The bathhouse itself acts as a multimedia museum, which documents the long ignored story of Wolfratshausen. It examines the time when the city served as a Nazi pattern settlement and will also remember as a warehouse for forced workers. After the Second World War, the place was also a refuge for Jewish "Displaced Personal".
The goal of this processing is to draw the teachings from history and prevent similar atrocities from repeating themselves. The association sees it as its task to catch these painful parts of the story and make people accessible.
In the price justification, it is also pointed out that the bath house is an innovative and creative place where the youth are particularly involved. Under the premise "from the past - for the future" is actively addressed to social problems such as anti -Semitism and racism.
In this way, not only the memory of the past is kept awake, but also a space for encounters that should promote mutual understanding. The Citizens' Prize of the Bavarian State Parliament thus sets an important sign of volunteering and strengthening democratic values in society. For those interested, there is regular information about the events in this region that are also collected in a newsletter.
