Innovations in the craft: Greens discuss opportunities in the Tegernsee valley

In Gmund, the future of craft is exciting! The Greens in the Bavarian state parliament are on a craft tour all over Bavaria and have now started in the Miesbach district to illuminate important topics such as innovations and challenges. Under the motto "Innovations, challenges, perspectives" they visited the state -of -the -art Eham in Hausham, which is known for their impressive virtual technologies. The master carpenter and green spokesman Andreas Birzele was enthusiastic about the company's "brutal innovative strength".

panel discussion with impressive experts

In the evening, experts gathered in the Gasthof Herzog Maximilian for the panel discussion. Ingrid Wildemann-Dominguez from Fablab Oberland and Georg Räß from the Chamber of Crafts discussed with Birzele and Benjamin Adjei, the Greens spokesman for Digital. Even if the AI expert Andreas Preißer announced for the event canceled at short notice, the panel participants met the expectations. They answered burning questions about artificial intelligence (AI) and their role in the craft. Birzele emphasized that the Bavarian craftsmen faces enormous challenges, which can also be seen as opportunities. There is often a lack of exchange and networking.

The urgency of young talent

A central topic was recruitment in the craft. Wildemann-Dominguez campaigned for her initiatives for the MINT formation, while Räß demanded an urgently needed change of image: "The craft is no longer master Eder today, but high-tech!" Despite the challenges, he describes the great opportunity that AI offers the craft, but without endangering the jobs of the craftsmen. According to current figures, 30 percent of young people are interested in the craft, but it is important to highlight the diversity and the technical possibilities. Birzele even proposed to introduce an internship phase instead of community service so that young people can gain practical experience. The message is clear: "Ki will be the future of the craft!"
