Poisoning family history: Leonhardikapelle celebrates 43 years!
Hundham, Deutschland - A moving chapter will be opened in Hundham on Saturday, November 9th! At 9.15 a.m., the festively decorated Leonhardi wagons open for the first tour in front of the fair - and among them there is a very special car: a detailed replica of the Hundhamer Leonhardikapelle. This impressive replica, which is provided with real plaster and wooden shingles, has been restored this year and is now presented with pride.
But behind this magnificent building there is a moving family history! Elisabeth Schnell and her late husband Manfred had sworn to build the chapel when her seriously ill son survived a critical night. "It rained streamed when we were traveling in Sanka towards Rosenheim," Elisabeth recalls the dramatic hours. An emergency doctor just came in time, and despite the dark forecasts, her son survived. This happy turn led to the fulfillment of its vow.
a promise that has never been forgotten
43 years ago the chapel was finally built, and the memories of it have remained alive. "We kept our promise," emphasizes Elisabeth Schnell. Her then husband and miner Nikolaus Zehetmeier were the builders, while their brother -in -law Klaus Schwaiger made the tower. The chapel was never forgotten; She was always part of the family. In 2012, Elisabeth gave the car of the Fischbachau municipality so that the chapel returns to where it belongs. "So that it is driven," she says, and that is exactly what happens this weekend when tradition is continued!
