Senior citizen causes Gleischaos: rail traffic in Munich is severely impaired!

A dramatic incident caused excitement in Ottobrunn on Thursday evening! An 86-year-old woman from the Munich district got into the track area at the S-Bahn stop with her car. The moment of terror occurred around 6:45 p.m. when the senior apparently accidentally turned wrongly and her vehicle could no longer move out of the danger zone.

The federal police were immediately alerted and prompted a track closure to ensure safety in rail traffic. Fortunately, there were no injuries and there were no damage to the rail systems themselves. But the consequences were significant: the rail traffic experienced sometimes massive failures and delays, which many commuters excited. A towing service was called to remove the vehicle from the track area.

Investigations run

The Federal Police Inspection Munich now has the investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident. So far, however, there is no evidence of the intentional action by the older lady. After completing the police measures, the 86-year-old was released. The investigation due to a dangerous intervention in rail traffic is ongoing, while the affected rail customers are waiting for the restoration of regular operation.
