Trend analyst Gabriela Kaiser from Landsberg am Lech explains that the fillings are becoming more and more unusual. "We haven't been with the one-euro calendars for a long time," she says. Instead, there are noble nuts, fine chocolates and even dietary supplements for the cold season in the doors. People treat themselves to these special calendars to increase the anticipation for Christmas.

"Advent calendar are given away more often," said Kaiser. They are no longer just intended for children, but also for partners, friends and family. These little gifts delight over 24 days and often replace the big Christmas presents. "It's no longer just about the money, but about the joy you give away," she adds.

Another trend are advent calendars that are filled with food. Whether mueslis, coffee, wine or even cheese - the selection is huge! Julia Uherek, Head of the Christmas World in Frankfurt, emphasizes that these calendars not only offer a sweet surprise, but also a way for companies to advertise their products. "You try through and may get stuck with a brand," she explains. The Advent season is thus discovered at the month of enjoyment in which new products are discovered and maybe even used all year round.
