Technology transfer center Kitzingen: Future of Robotics and AI is now starting!

in Kitzingen has given a pioneering project to start: the technology transfer center (TTZ), a facility that specializes in robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) and digitization, was officially opened. The solemn act took place on October 7, after which the TTZ had already taken its first steps in 2024.

The celebrations took place in the Innopark, where District Administrator Tamara Bischof together with the university president of the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt, Prof. Dr. Jean Meyer, and Andreas Meissenschläger, a representative of the Innopark, the opening volume average. This event marks an important milestone in the regional innovation and technology landscape.

strategic partnerships and regional development

An outstanding aspect of the opening ceremony was the inclusion of Scholz Druck GmbH from Dettelbach as a new founder company. District Administrator Bishop emphasized the positive response that the TTZ generated within a very short time and emphasized that the decision to focus on modern technologies had hit the nerve of the time.

The meaning of the TTZ goes beyond technical aspects. Prof. Dr. Meyer emphasized that the center not only promotes technology transfer, but also serves as a network for local companies. The exchange between the companies is intended to initiate innovations and promote synergies, which will ultimately benefit the entire region. A special symbol for this new era is the THWS flag that blows over Kitzingen and underlines the connection of the university to the TTZ.

dr. York Falkenberg, Managing Director of Knauf PFT and chairman of the founder advisory board, commented extremely positively about the first successes. A recently carried out “Speed Dating” event between THWS research institutions and founder companies has revealed potential in the cooperation between business and research. Such initiatives are intended to increase the competitiveness of companies and create attractive offers in rural regions.

The close cooperation with the research institutions Ceri and Cairo has already borne fruit. Prof. Dr. Tobias Kaupp found that the TTZ has the necessary skills in the area of robotics and AI from the start. In addition, five research assistants have already been won for the TTZ, who will start their work in the coming months to support the project sustainably.

The TTZ in Kitzingen not only represents an important step towards technological innovation, but also acts as a catalyst for economic growth in the region. With strong partnerships and a clear focus on the future, the center is well positioned to play a central role in the next development phase of the local economy.
