Six new trees in the Kitzinger outdoor pool: shadow for hot summer days!
In the Kitzinger outdoor pool on the Mondsee island, a group of loyal regular guests started a green revolution! Six young trees were planted to donate the sun worshipers in summer urgently needed shadows. This initiative, which was born in summer, has now been successfully implemented and shows how much the visitors identify with their outdoor pool.
Under the freshly planted trees there are four magnificent spherical cherries along the swimmer basin and two amber trees on the meadow behind the diving tower. Mayor Stefan Güntner praised the donor and emphasized that the city invested a lot in technology and a new swimmer pool last year. But only with the new trees does the outdoor pool feel really completely!
A creative team of tree donors
The idea for this green project came from Petra Vandecar and Silvia Hofmann, who expressed the desire for shade trees in bright weather and high temperatures in June. They were able to quickly win over other regular guests for their vision. Olivier Rombach, Managing Director of Stadtbetriebe GmbH, emphasized the aesthetic aspect: "The trees complete a gap and complete the picture." Thanks also go to the committed employees Alexandra Schwab and Kerstin Fliehr, who implemented the idea with a lot of passion.
dr. Harald Knobling recalled the Kitzinger beautification association, which was responsible for greening the city from 1879 to 1980. He may see the beginning of a new movement in this project, which could also provide more green in other places in Kitzingen. The tree dispensers, including Alexandra and Walter Graf as well as other committed citizens, set a strong sign for the beautification of their outdoor pool and the city!
