Kitzingen celebrates poultry farming for 134 years: anniversary exhibition in the Colosseum!

in 1889, when the pastor Reuss in the Colosseum created the Kitzingen poultry breeding association, the focus was on the preservation of old races. Today, over a century later, the focus has shifted. The Kitzingen small animal breeding association, as it is now called, is particularly devoted to the preservation of traditional pet breeds. On the occasion of the anniversary on November 9th and 10th, a spectacular three Franconia show will be held, which brings together the breeders from Kitzingen, Adelsdorf and Weißenbrunn!

A very special highlight of the event is the memory show for Rudolf Hartmann, the legendary breeder of the club. Here, 130 Franconian drum pigeons are presented in an impressive colors. Entry to this unique event is free of charge on both days, and the physical well -being and a large raffle is also taken care of. The exhibition will open on Saturday, November 9th, at 10 a.m. by Mayor Astrid Glos.

an association with history

The Kitzingen small animal breeding association currently has 140 members, including nine committed young people. In the heart of the association is the club's own breeding system on Lerchenbühl, where the focus is on species preservation and finishing of ornamental poultry and breed poultry. Every year a “day of open stables” is held on the Ascension Day, in which school classes and kindergarten groups have the opportunity to visit the breeding system and learn more about the fascinating world of breeding breeding.

The opening times of the exhibition are on Saturday from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and on Sunday, November 10th, from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. An event that animal lovers and interested parties should not miss!
