Mayor Burkhard Klein shocked the council members with the news that the BRK, the previous carrier of the kindergarten and the planned new building, cannot continue to run its sponsorship. Klein made it clear that the BRK will continue to look after the existing kindergarten, but will no longer be able to assume new projects. In order to cover costs, the BRK plans a drastic increase in fees of 32 percent, which should be effective from September 1, 2025. "Care just costs money," says Klein.

But small has a plan! Instead of his own new building, Rödelsee could cooperate with the kindergarten in Geiselwind, where 50 places are currently available. The Geiselwind market would take up Rödelseer children for the next five years. A journey time of up to 30 minutes to the daycare center is reasonable for the parents. "We are looking for a good solution," he emphasizes, while he wants to sit down with parents, the BRK and the community to discuss the challenges. But the municipal council Markus Ostwald sees the cooperation as a certificate of poverty and warns: "There is explosives in it!"
