Village renewal in Greuth: Mayor warns of long waiting times!

Greuth, Deutschland - The village renewal in Greuth, which has been planned since 2017, is still a long time coming! At the recent citizens' meeting in the Casteller district, the mood was steamed when Mayor Christian Hähnlein informed the 20 those present that there were still many hurdles to overcome. First of all, interested citizens will have to take part in a seminar in the Klosterlangheim district of Lichtenfels in the coming year before the board can be elected and the plans can be submitted. The costs must be updated and the course of the road must be coordinated with the government. The area of the lake at the entrance to the town and the sports field, which should flow into the measures, are particularly affected.

flood protection and sewage treatment plants in the focus

Another hot topic was flood protection in the west of the village. This should not only be cleaned and a wall on the football field should be cleaned and a wall should also be built in order to avert future floods. Mayor Hähnlein advised to clean the slope of the lake this winter. It was also known that the conversion and dismantling work of the power supply on the roof of the house were postponed to the next year due to the lack of money. But there is also positive news: In the coming days, the pumping station will be renewed to the sewage treatment plant on the outskirts.

A central topic was the renewal of the sewage treatment plant in Castell, which, according to the mayor, could cost between 3.39 and 3.87 million euros. The University of Applied Sciences in Hof has calculated various variants, which are now presented to the water management office. The measurements have shown that the inflow values of the system are much higher than originally assumed, which requires a system for 4000 inhabitants. For the municipal part of Wüstenfelden, a plant -based sewage treatment plant is favored, the construction of which is estimated at around one million euros. Overall, the municipality could expect costs of less than five million euros, while 5.5 million euros were estimated for a connection to Wiesentheid. The hope of funding remains, but what the citizens ultimately have to pay is currently unclear.
