Grief with empathy: Kaufbeuren's consolation sets new standards
In the busy Kaiser-Max-Straße from Kaufbeuren, a shop catches the eye: the consolation, led by undertaker Michael Schwarz. Not only coffins and urns can be found here, but also portrait pictures of different people. Schwarz, who has been working in this sensitive profession for 13 years, brings a mixture of professionalism and empathy into the world of dying.
The former nurse consciously chose the burial to support people in their grief. "We are primarily a service provider and try to understand the needs of the people who come to us," he emphasizes. With further training as a Thanatopractor, he is able to put the deceased into a worthy state after an accident. Schwarz sees his job in helping the mourners to find a new place for the deceased in their own life so that they can live positively themselves.
funeral celebrations with empathy
The handling of grief is individual and stops not. According to a survey, every person in Germany has an average of an undertaker in Germany every 17 years. After the death of his in -laws, Ernst Schönhaar found out how important a worthy funeral is. "Empathy is the key word," he says, emphasizing that church support was important to him.
Michael Schwarz caused a sensation with a daring marketing campaign: 13 years ago, he distributed funeral transport fans in the city area, which caused mixed reactions. In retrospect, he sees marketing in his industry as a delicate one because it shows people's death. "The best thing is anyway - good work and satisfied customers," he says. In Kaufbeuren, the consolation is not only a burial company, but also a place that integrates death into life, because "death and dying need space in life and also in the middle of the cities."
