Fascinating crib art: central exhibition in the hospital church!
The anticipation for the festive season increases! In the Hospital Church of Ingolstadt, the central exhibition for the 27th Krippenweg is opened, which can be admired from Sunday, December 1, 2024 to Monday, January 6, 2025. Eight talented crib builders and private loans from Ingolstadt and the surrounding area have contributed their impressive exhibits. In addition to the traditional representations of the birth of Christ in the stable, the escape to Egypt is also discussed this year. Visitors can look forward to a fascinating mix of Alpine and oriental style, supplemented by international cribs from a wide variety of materials.
A highlight of the exhibition are the filigree monastery work, including masterpieces from the Gnadenthal monastery. The Easternrieder crib of the city museum, which shines in new splendor after a restoration, is particularly noticeable. The hospital church itself, an architectural jewel in late Gothic style, opens its doors to the public and offers a unique backdrop for these impressive cribs.
opening times and guided tours
The exhibition is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year, it remains closed. The Sunday opening times apply on December 25th and 26th and on January 6th. Entry is free, which makes this event a perfect goal for families and friends.
In addition, the Ingolstadt tourist tourist offers information on three Advent Sundays (1st, 8th and 15th of December 2024). These about two hours of tours start at 2:00 p.m. and cost 8 euros. The meeting point is the Tourist Information at Rathausplatz, Moritzstraße 19 in 85049 Ingolstadt. An unforgettable experience for all crib lovers!
