An incredible incident shocked Ingolstadt on Thursday! In the middle of the afternoon, when the sun was still high in the sky, a drunk man went berserk. Hallstrasse became the scene of a dramatic event when the 35-year-old broke the window of a shop with his elbow without warning.
Eyewitnesses could hardly believe their eyes when the man fled after the crime. But the brave citizens were not deterred and gave chase. On Donaustraße they managed to catch the rioter and hold him until the police arrived. The officers quickly found out that the man had a drink in his tea with over two per mille!
Damage and consequences
The damage to the shop window is estimated at around 500 euros. The man is now being investigated for damage to property. The police are impressed by the courageous intervention of the witnesses, who were able to prevent something worse from happening through their courageous actions. Ingolstadt will not soon forget this afternoon!
