Adler under pressure: Ingolstadt fights for the turn after home defeat!
The Adler Mannheim had a painful start to the season on October 6th when they lost 1: 3 against ERC Ingolstadt. This defeat not only marked the first setback of the season, but also the first home defeat. But what has happened to the Ingolstadt since then? A look at their performance shows that the Panthers were able to score ten victories in the first 16 games, but in the last six games before the break they suffered four defeats, including a catastrophic series against Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt. After this dry spell, however, there was a ray of hope: a convincing 4: 1 victory against Augsburg.
The return to national competition did not go as hoped, because on Friday the Ingolstadt residents had to accept a short 4: 5 defeat after extra time in Nuremberg. On the defensive, the Panther are solid with 48 goals after 16 games, which they place among the top six of the league. But the goalkeeper performance can be expanded: Devin Williams parried 90.3 percent of the shots, while Michael Garteig still has air up with 87.22 percent. In defense, Alex Breton stands out, who is the top scorer of his team with eight goals and eight templates. Routinier Mat Bodie ensures stability, but has already accumulated 34 minutes of penalty and was recently closed to eight games because of unsportsmanlike behavior.
weaknesses in storm and power play
In the storm, manager Tim Regan with Myles Powell has a direct hit, which is the best template with eleven templates. The storm trio around Wayne Simpson, Wojciech Stachowiak and Daniel Schmölz also shows the risk of scoring. The Panther shine with a bully quota of 56.62 percent that is the best of the league. But not everything runs round: Charles Bertrand continues to disappoint and continues his downward trend from last season. The power play remains a big problem, which ranks in the fourth -last place in the league with a success rate of only 18.84 percent. Also outnumbered, the Panther are not much better at 73.68 percent, which is also burdened by the defensive.
