Günther complains of Söder's fault: black-green before the turn?
In the current debate about a possible black and green coalition after the Bundestag election, Schleswig-Holstein's Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) criticized the statements of CSU boss Markus Söder. In an interview with the ARD, Günther complained that Söder acted as a "disturbance" with his statements. The Prime Minister emphasized that the cooperation with all democratic parties is in principle possible, which is also seen by most responsible persons in the Union. "I believe that Markus Söder is a little bit about staying in conversation himself," said Günther and added that it was not beneficial if disturbances come from Bavaria. In addition, he emphasized that it would be helpful if Söder obtained clearer positions that correspond to the common principles of the Union-in response to Söder's statement that the CSU could no longer have black-green.
political positions in view
In contrast to Söder, Union Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, did not exclude a collaboration with the Greens, which Günther considered strategically sensible. The North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst also supports the idea of a black and green coalition at the federal level and refers to successful partnerships between the CDU and the Greens in the countries. Wüst explained that the SPD and FDP would be closer to its party in many ways, but that successful cooperation is also possible with the Greens. However, this perspective is critically seen by CDU general secretary Carsten Linnemann. He warned that a coalition with the Greens could strengthen the political edges and warned that the Union should consider a change of policy to prevent extreme forces in the next election in 2029. According to Linnemann, it is therefore important to avoid such coalition considerations if possible. For further details and developments in the Bundestag election campaign debate, see also the reporting of ZDF and The time .
