Germering gives away 100 fruit trees: a gift for nature and citizens!
In a spectacular act of the city of Germering, 100 fruit trees were given away, and the citizens stood in line to secure their own green treasures! The selection was tempting: apple, pear, cherry or plum - everyone could choose their favorite. This initiative, which was launched with the support of the Free State of Bavaria, ensured enormous interest and a true tree party!
"A great idea!", Thomas Kunz, who was one of the first to use the first opportunity to pick up his tree from the municipal building yard with his son Maximilian. The Germeringer already has experience with such actions and knows that his garden is not only more beautiful, but also more environmentally friendly thanks to the new trees. The city administration has a particularly important thing when choosing the trees in order to offer resistant varieties that can defy the challenges of climate change.
organized tree distribution
The distribution of the trees was a well -thought -out process: interested citizens were able to register online and received a time window for collection. This ensured that the building yard employees and Mayor Andres Haas were not overwhelmed by the crowd. "92 trees were gone very quickly in this way!", Christian Klöpfer from the climate protection department said about the overwhelming encouragement. Each pick -up not only received their tree, but also valuable tips for care to ensure that the roots grow well and thrive the trees.
The joy was great when Andreas Bieleck and his family transported his cherry tree home on a cargo bike. But patience is required: "You have to wait at least two years for the first fruits to harvest," said Klöfer. For the remaining trees, the city already has plans to plant them on urban land. A truly green gift for the Germeringen citizens and nature!
