Nürnberg, Deutschland - In Bavaria, over 50 cigarette machines have been broken open, which led to a large -scale search for the police. Between March and December 2024, unknowns broke up numerous machines in the northern and eastern Bavarian region, with the perpetrators welding to get into the devices. After months of investigations by the Fürth criminal police in close cooperation with the public prosecutor's office in Nuremberg-Fürth, two suspects were arrested: a 49-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man. The arrest took place on Monday, December 9, 2024, in the Nuremberg city area. During subsequent apartment searches, extensive evidence was ensured, the exact nature of which the police have not currently revealed. The two accused are exposed to the suspicion of the serious band theft and must now be responsible for an investigative judge who will decide on Tuesday whether they will be in custody.

The investigation has not yet been completed. According to the police, it is checked whether other people may have been involved in the breakouts. This could indicate that an organized group could be behind the thefts that have been active in various regions in the past few months.
