New Deanery Miesbach: Structural reform brings fresh wind for believers!
In the district of Miesbach, a fundamental reform has taken place in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, which leads to a completely new structure within the Catholic Church. The term "quantum leap" fell several times during a press conference to the construction of the new Deanery Miesbach, which underlines the importance of this change. This restructuring should not only improve the internal processes, but also significantly influence the self -image of the church in the region.
Dean Michael Mannhardt took a look at the process by comparing it to a steamer: to make course changes, patience was asked. "The path from Bayrischzell to Munich is far," he explained, emphasizing that not everything can happen at once. However, the changes have long been noticeable, which has been evident due to the change of pastoral careers and new areas of responsibility. A clear plan has developed from fragmented measures that should strengthen pastoral care on site.
The new structure
A central element of the reform is the introduction of a medium management level. The deans and their teams now play a more active role by not only speaking, but acting as superiors of the leading pastors. The number of deans in the archbishopric was reduced from 40 to 18, which is a significant simplification. Despite this reduction, the Miesbach dean's office is preserved in its existing form, which on the one hand is a relief, and on the other hand could also cause concerns that everything stays the same. Mannhardt made it clear that new approaches and a lived culture were necessary: "It is part of it that it will also bump on the new path."
The structural reform is also reflected in the areas of responsibility. Pastor should no longer have to deal with all tasks alone. So the pastoral work was divided into basic services and topic services. The basic services include traditional rituals such as baptisms and burials, while the topic services cover special areas- such as the senior and youth pastoral. This structure is intended to increase the clarity and accessibility of the offers and make it clear that even people have access to various services without regular visit to the church.
The upcoming service
On Friday, October 4th, a festive service for the dean of the dean in the parish church of Miesbach will take place at 5 p.m. The motto "Time is now, the time to start" reflects the spirit of optimism associated with this new era. After that, a sociable get -together is organized in the parish of Miesbacher, to which all believers and interested parties are invited.
In the new Deanery Miesbach, around 48,750 Catholics live, which are organized in eleven parish associations. The dean's office is set up by various bodies, all of which play a role in the new structure. The inclusion of volunteers and their strengthening are also an integral part of this reform. Dean Mannhardt and his team see their task in serving people directly and strengthening the connection to the community. "Jesus also went into the villages," emphasized Baumann, making it clear that the path to the living church leads through the roots in the communities.
A structural change that brings both challenges and opportunities - the further development of the Miesbach dean's office is imminent, and those responsible are aware that this path will not always be easy. But the enthusiasm and determination are noticeable
