Christmas markets in the Donau-Ries: Festive highlights and dates 2023

The festive season is just around the corner, and the Christmas markets in the Donau-Ries district are preparing for a spectacular comeback! Everywhere stalls are built up and the Christmas decorations are brought out to kidnap visitors into the magical Advent season. A highlight is the romantic Christmas market in Nördlingen, which takes place from November 29 to December 23. With over 70 stands, it is one of the largest in the district. The opening times are from Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. A breathtaking view of the action offers the 90 meter high Daniel!

In Donauwörth, the Christmas market is celebrated on five long weekends under the motto "Donauwörther Christmas fragrance". From November 21 to December 22nd, the stands are open every day from 12 noon to 8.30 p.m. Mayor Jürgen Sorré will open the market on November 21 at 5 p.m. Another highlight is the romantic Christmas market on the old town island of Ried, which creates a festive atmosphere from December 19th to 22nd.

Special markets and events

The Oettinger Christkindlesmarkt, which takes place from November 28th to December 1st, promises culinary delights under the motto "fairytale-culinary Christmas". The rural Christmas at the Hofgut Bäldleeschweigen also opens its gates from November 29 to December 22, where Santa Claus visits and Christmas wildlife are waiting for visitors.

The small, charming Christmas markets in the villages are also worth a visit! The Kleinsorheim Christmas bazaar celebrates its tenth anniversary on November 23 and 24, while the Gärtner Christmas in Donaumünster invites you to November 23. And in Amerdingen the village Christmas will be celebrated with music and appearances on November 30th!
