Bavaria pays 80 percent compensation for flood damage to farmers
Riedstrom, Deutschland - Bayern's Prime Minister Markus Söder has sent a crucial signal: affected farmers on the Riedstrom now receive 80 percent of their flood damage! This measure follows for months of discussions after the devastating flood in June 2024, which flooded large parts of Schwabens and caused considerable damage to harvests and soils. On Tuesday, the cabinet will officially decide on the important decision, and Söder not only ensures farmers on the Riedstrom, but also for other farmers in affected areas, which can now also expect generous compensation.
Instead of the 50 percent originally planned, affected farmers will receive the full proportion of 80 percent for non -insured damage in the Riedstrom in the future. This could release around ten million euros in compensation. In addition, the upper limit for support in other flood areas is increased from 50,000 to up to 200,000 euros. The Free State thus sets a strong sign of support and justice for the farmers affected by the nature resources. www.allgaeuer-zeitung.de .
