New traffic lights for more security: traffic transition in Stephansposching!

Stephansposching-Bahnhof, Deutschland - Large changes are imminent on the B8 at Stephansposching! The state building authority Passau has announced that a new light signal system will be installed at the B8 junction for the A92 Plattling-West. These measures aim to significantly increase safety in traffic. But that's not all: Another traffic light will also be experienced in the confluence area of DEG 13. The increase in traffic flow, especially through the new BMW plant, requires urgent adjustments!

The deep construction work begins on Monday, November 4, and are to be completed on Saturday, November 30th. The confluence areas of the district roads are blocked and traffic diverted. The diversion leads from Stephanzing-Bahnhof via Stephansposching, Uttenkofen and Michaelsbuch or from Rottenmann via Altenbuch and Arndorf to the Plattling-West junction. This region has long been a focus of the accident, which is why it is hoped that the new traffic lights will be a turning point for traffic safety.

costs and time frame

The costs for the work at the Plattling-West junction are expected to be around 660,000 euros, while the light signal system at Stephansposching costs around 325,000 euros. The construction company Streicher from Deggendorf will carry out the civil engineering work, while the Swarco company from Munich will deliver the traffic light technology. The completion of all systems is expected in the second quarter of 2025, depending on the timely delivery of the traffic light masts and control units. It remains to be seen which chaos is still expecting!
