Art meets nature: New exhibition in Dachau inspires with colors!

In Dachau, an exciting exhibition is currently being presented under the title "Moment and Duration", which combines the work of two artists: Theresia Hefele and Anna Kiiskinen. This exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to explore the fascinating interpretations of nature by both artists who differ in their origin and artistic approach.

Theresia Hefele, born in Markt Indersdorf in 1958, expresses a unique feeling for still lifes and the aesthetics of plants and natural motifs in her art. Their works, including arrangements with birch leaves and blueberries, are designed in such a way that they are removed from their original context and offer a fresh perspective. With great skill, Hefele blurred the boundaries between photography and painting; Your black and white shots are colored with fine acrylic paints, which leads to impressive visual results. She calls the overlay of her motifs "election relationships", in which she combines different elements to create new, poetic pictures.

common roots and arts sets

The friendship between Hefele and Kiiskinen, who lived 20 years after her emigration from Finland in Germany, is reflected in the harmonies of her works. Kikiskinen's pictures, often in large landscapes, work like filigree photographs, even though they are paintings. The artist understood to achieve an impressive visual impression by reducing a few colors, mostly in cool tones. If you take a closer look, the lively coloring reveals itself in the details of your work.

The exhibition shows how both artists address the natural world in their compositions. Artist Anna Kiiskinen often chooses excerpts for her work that are reminiscent of film scenes. Her representation of an overgrown window that looks into a dark forest creates an atmosphere of secret and discovery. Here, nature is not only perceived as a backdrop, but as a formative and shaping factor.

The meaning of water and urban space

A central element in Kiiskinen's work is the topic of water. In the current exhibition you can see pictures that capture light reflections on water surfaces and show a plastic chair in a Munich rose garden that looks like melting. These successful compositions show how water can be staged dynamically by light and shadow.

It is also impressive how skiiskins address the absence of people in urban scenes. Her paintings capture moments of urban life - be it a piece of chain link fence in front of a puddle or the silhouette of a tree on a house facade. There are always human traces, but the absence itself creates its own, thoughtful mood. Their work lets the viewer reflect on how nature and people create structures are in a constant area of tension.

The vernissage of the exhibition took place on October 17th and can be seen in the KVD gallery in Dachau until November 10th. Visitors are cordially invited to experience the works of art of the two talented artists and to discover the dialogue between nature and humans in their unique perspectives. The artists are available for discussions on Sundays, which offers the opportunity to gain even deeper insights into their creative processes.
