After his Bundeswehr period, Josef was looking for a professional change. He started his career as a toolmaker at the Schaltbau company in Dachau and stayed in industry for many years. Anneliese, on the other hand, completed an apprenticeship as a tailor, but found her passion in the office and finally worked at Grundig in Dachau.

from the marriage of the Nickelsbacher, daughter Petra emerged, who married the son of Josef's friend Max Binsmaier. Her family grew with the three grandsons Alexander, Florian and Daniel over two meters tall.
